If you are reading this, you are most likely currently enrolled in a college or are close to someone who is or will be. Whatever the situation, it is helpful to know what you intend to do in college in terms of selecting the right courses that relate to your stated major as well as your personal preferences, interests and enjoyment. Selecting the right courses not only means a better work flow in terms of study and classwork, it may also have to do with saving time in one way or another. Straying away too much from your major or interests could mean that you will need extra time later on to complete courses for required credits.
First things first, become familiarized with your college website and course booklet or catalog. Most times, a list of majors and corresponding courses are listed in both of these locations. Providing you have declared a major already, the first thing to do is look up that major in your course catalog.
Then, make note of what classes you have already taken in a list that should accompany your major description. Map out a timeline of how much time remaining in your intended college career and figure out how many classes to take and when, and how many credits you will earn by doing so in different combinations. You will need to make sure you can handle the workload of certain courses combined with each other as well as earn credits on a timely basis.
